BRECKENRIDGE/SUMMIT COUNTY COMMON QUESTIONS

How far is my Tiger Run Chalet to the towns of Breckenridge and Frisco?

Both towns are approximately 7 miles or about 10 minutes by car.

What is the elevation?

Breckenridge is about 9600 ft.

What is Altitude Sickness?

If you aren't use to higher elevation, you will often feel winded or tired after walking or climbing stairs.  Signs of altitude sickness are commonly headache, nausea and/or insomnia.  Common ways to prevent this is to take it easy, don't over exert yourself the first day you arrive.  Stay hydrated and avoid or minimize your alcohol intake.

How do I get around town or is there public transportation in Breckenridge?

The Summit Stage offers free public bus service throughout Summit County, providing service to ski areas, lodging, town centers, retail areas, medical      centers, and some residential areas.  Uber is also available.  There are multiple bus stops through out the county.  One is located on the main road CO-9 about a 5-minute walk from the Tiger Run Main Office, from the Primrose Property there is a stop right outside the door on 4 O'clock rd and from the Barton Road property there is a stop about a 10-minute walk, off airport road, across from the Breckenridge Distillery.

Do I need a 4 Wheel Drive Vehicle in Breckenridge?

This is a personal preference.  However, in our opinion the roads are kept up with and plowed typically an all wheel drive vehicle is sufficient.

Why is the hot water not working in my Tiger Run Chalet?

Please see your check in instructions and the welcome binder in the chalet.  Some of the units have a "light switch to turn on hot water", typically this is located in the kitchen area or bathroom.  Please allow about 20-30 minutes for the water heater to heat up. If the problem still persists then, it’s possible your water line is frozen. Please call us or the Tiger Run maintenance to assist.

Is there Air Conditioning?

Currently none of our properties have A/C.  Breckenridge is about 9000 ft in elevation, so as it may be warm during the day (usually no more than 80 and rarely humid), when the sun goes down it cools off pretty quick, most homeowner just open the windows and allow the home to cool off.

No, there are no private hot tubs but there are 2 indoor hot tubs and a heated pool in the club house.

Does Colorado Springs get a lot of snow?

No, normally we do not get much snow and it rarely stays very long.  It's not uncommon for us to have 50 and 60 degree winter days.  That being said it could be 50 one day and the very next day snow 6 inches (welcome to the mountains)!  Most commonly when it does snow, due to the elevation and amount of sun we get, our roads are warm and the snow usually melts away within a couple hours.
